Rho Gammas
Recruitment is an exciting and memorable experience, but it can be a hectic and emotional time as well. Recruitment counselors, referred to as Rho Gammas, are undergraduate women at WMU who are there to assist you throughout the Recruitment process. You will be assigned to a Rho Gamma group at the beginning of Recruitment. She will be there to support you throughout the week!
Rho Gammas, who have participated in recruitment themselves, have been through an extensive semester-long training program in preparation for Recruitment week. They have your best interest at heart and are available to help you during the week of recruitment by serving as an impartial listener and friend.

Why I chose to be Head Gamma:
I chose to be a rho gamma because when I was going through recruitment, my rho gamma made me feel welcomed and supported throughout the entire process, I want to be able to give back to the Panhellenic community and give that same support and kindness to all the girls joining our big greek families.
My biggest tip for Recruitment:My biggest tip is truly to just be yourself. Being your authentic self allows you to see the most amazing parts of each chapter that cannot be explained. The parts that give you a feeling that tells you “I am exactly where I am meant to be."

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to be a Rho Gamma because I wanted the opportunity to guide girls through such an exciting part of their college experience. Recruitment can feel overwhelming at times, and I wanted to be someone they could turn to for support, encouragement, and advice throughout the process.
My biggest tip for Recruitment:
Keep an open mind! Recruitment is such a fun experience and a great opportunity to meet so many new people. Trust the process, be yourself, and go into each conversation with an open heart, you never know where you’ll find your perfect fit.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to be a Rho Gamma because we are often the very first connection women make within Greek life at WMU, and I wanted that connection to be rooted in kindness, authenticity, and encouragement. Recruitment can feel overwhelming and intimidating, especially when everything is so new, so I wanted to be someone my girls could rely on throughout the process. Having the opportunity to support, guide, and cheer on potential new members as they find their home has already meant so much to me!
My biggest tip for Recruitment:
As cliché as it may sound, my biggest piece of advice is to simply be yourself. Every chapter is genuinely excited to get to know you and wants you to find the place where you feel most at home. Put your best foot forward, lead with your heart, and trust the process. The connections you make will be so much more meaningful when you show up as your authentic self, and you will end up exactly where you are meant to be!

Why I choose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to become a Rho Gamma because helping women find their home away from home is incredibly important to me. As someone who came to Western Michigan from Wisconsin, I know firsthand what it feels like to be homesick and search for a sense of belonging. Recruitment can be both exciting and overwhelming, and I want to be a supportive mentor and guide for potential new members throughout that process. Being able to help PNMs find a community where they feel welcomed, valued, and at home is something I am truly passionate about. I also want to give back to PNMs in the same way that others supported and encouraged me during my own recruitment experience.
My biggest tip for Recruitment:
My biggest piece of advice is to be unapologetically yourself and trust the process. Recruitment brings a mix of emotions such as excitement, nerves, and uncertainty, but through it all, remember that who you are is enough. Every PNM has a place within our Panhellenic community, and there is a home where you will be valued and celebrated for exactly who you are. It can be easy to second guess yourself, but the connections meant for you will happen when you stay true to yourself. Most importantly, enjoy this special week. Give yourself grace, embrace the experience with an open heart, and know you will shine and stand out to your future home.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to be a Rho Gamma because being in greek life has changed my whole college experience. I didn’t know anybody coming to Western and I came from a really small town. I was really searching for a sense of belonging here and remember feeling so nervous. Now, I couldn’t be more grateful for the community that surrounds me and I want to help girls in the same boat as me find the place that they belong too, while also being able to give back to the Panhellenic community. I know how going through recruitment can feel and I’d love to be someone for girls to lean on, just like my Rho Gamma did for me. I’m hoping to help create a supportive environment for all the girls so that they have the best recruitment experience possible.
My biggest tip for Recruitment:
My biggest tip is to just be yourself!! Going through recruitment can be tough sometimes, but trying to be someone you aren’t makes it 10x tougher. If you don’t focus on just trying to say what you think people may want to hear then you will find the people who truly want you for you and your decision will be that much easier! and that’s what recruitments really about… finding your people! Focus solely on being yourself and that will lead you straight to where you are supposed to be!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I wanted to be a Rho gamma because I wanted to share my love for Greek life with new girls coming in and help guide them through their experience! (My mom was also a rho gamma at western!!)
My Biggest Tip for Recruitment:
Make every situation, good or bad, into a positive and trust that everything happens for a reason! Always stay true to yourself and just enjoy the experience!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
Greek life has provided me with new opportunities, personal growth, meaningful friendships, and a community where I feel accepted and supported. As a Rho Gamma, I want to help potential new members find a place they will thrive and feel supported, while also helping them feel less anxious and more confident in their decision!
My biggest tip for recruitment:
The goal of recruitment is to connect, not to “prove” anything, so remember that the best way to build relationships with others is by being yourself. Staying true to yourself allows you to fully embrace this journey with confidence and ease, guiding you exactly where you’re meant to be!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to be a Rho Gamma to be able to go through recruitment in a different way where I get to help guide PNMs in finding their forever home. Greek life has been a major part of my college experience where I got to make lifelong friendships, have leadership opportunities, and be a part of something bigger than myself. I’m excited to help girls find their purpose in greek life and show them what all it has to offer!
My biggest tip for recruitment:
My biggest tip for recruitment is to find people who align with your values. This is a completely individual experience where you find what’s meant for you. Keep an open mind and trust the process, everything will work out the way it’s supposed to!!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to be a Rho Gamma because college can feel overwhelming and intimidating, especially in the beginning. Finding a group of girls who make you feel supported, and like you truly belong can make all the difference. Having the opportunity to play a small role in helping someone find their home away from home is something I’m really excited about. I want to help every girl going through recruitment feel welcomed, included, supported, and excited as she begins this new chapter.
My biggest tip for recruitment:
My biggest piece of advice is not to compare your recruitment experience to anyone else’s. Recruitment is about finding the place where you’ll thrive and feel like you truly belong. Don’t let stereotypes or other people’s opinions influence your decisions. Instead, focus on how each chapter makes you feel and trust your own experience. This is your journey, so put yourself first and choose the community where you can grow and be supported throughout college and beyond!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
I chose to be a Rho Gamma because I love creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves. Recruitment can bring so many emotions, and I wanted the chance to be a calm, encouraging person that PNMs could lean on throughout the week. Watching someone grow more confident each day and eventually find a place they genuinely connect with is something really special, and I’d love to be part of that experience.
My biggest tip for recruitment:
My biggest tip for going through recruitment is to not put so much pressure on yourself. It’s easy to get caught up in overthinking every conversation or worrying about where you’ll end up, but recruitment is such a fun and exciting experience if you let yourself enjoy it. Trust the process, stay open to every opportunity, and remember that you’ll find the place where you’re meant to be. Your home has a way of finding you when you stop trying to force it.
