Rho Gammas
Recruitment is an exciting and memorable experience, but it can be a hectic and emotional time as well. Recruitment counselors, referred to as Rho Gammas, are undergraduate women at WMU who are there to assist you throughout the Recruitment process. You will be assigned to a Rho Gamma group at the beginning of Recruitment. She will be there to support you throughout the week!
Rho Gammas, who have participated in recruitment themselves, have been through an extensive semester-long training program in preparation for Recruitment week. They have your best interest at heart and are available to help you during the week of recruitment by serving as an impartial listener and friend.

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma: I chose to be a Rho Gamma because being in a sorority has opened me up so much at WMU and I have made so many life long friendships. Before joining a sorority I was shy and introverted but after joining I have grown into more of a confident and outgoing person than I ever have been. This experience has made me want to help others find where they can grow in this way too.
My biggest tip for Recruitment:
My biggest tip for recruitment is to be open to anything and everything recruitment has to offer and be yourself!

Why I chose to be a Rho Gamma:
Because meeting new people is so much fun! Recruitment is all about putting yourself out there and getting to know others, and we understand that sometimes it’s challenging. I want to be able to support anyone who is interested in going Greek and help them find their way home!
My Biggest Tip for Recruitment:
Ask questions! Whether it’s to your Rho gamma, an active in the chapter, or someone on panhel, always ask! We want to be as transparent as possible, so if there is anything you are unsure about or need some clarity on, never be afraid to ask someone!

Remember the 3 C’s. Stay calm; we have all been in the same position as you. Cool, because being yourself is the most important part of finding your home. And collectively, because even though you might start to stress, you will always have someone ready to lend a shoulder to lean on.
